With SAP consultants more in demand than ever, it’s no secret that SAP certification can open the doors to hundreds of opportunities. However, SAP software provides many areas for a career development and how do you decide which path is best for you?

When trying to decide on a career path, it is helpful to understand why those who picked a particular career path did so, and more importantly, why they stuck with it. Most IT graduates and professionals choose SAP for a variety of reasons, some of which include the following:

Challenging Work: Many choose SAP software for the challenge. Companies, businesses, government agencies, and others look to SAP consultants to help in solving problems and meeting organizational objectives. Such expectations require SAP consultant to have strong SAP technical and functional expertise and problem solving skills. By honing these skills early in their careers, the SAP consultant will be better prepared for the day when they have to make critical decisions for an organization.

On-the-job-learning: The education in SAP software is a great way to learn about business. Whether they are working for an Automobile or a Chemicals company, Defense, Government Agency, or a consulting and software development company you get a close-up look at how an organization operates and what takes to be a successful consultant.

Interesting Profession: SAP consultants Analyze, design and implement automated solutions for the organization. They spend most of their time working on the SAP system, analyzing and designing business processes. They also interact with their colleagues, managers, and business process SME, planners and users. In fact they spend 25 percent working with people, and 75 percent with the business process, analysis, design, implementation, presenting a solution, as well as preparing and delivering user training. In a consulting firm, the SAP consultant may be involved in pre and post project promotional activities, such as presentations to prospect clients, and preparations of proposals.

They can apply their functional and technical knowhow as well as other skills such as analysis, design and implementation not only in SAP, but in other areas of the organization; professions and software packages, such as assisting organization in training, improving and enhancing a business process, data conversions, training and developing special interfaces.

Most organizations with SAP as their business processing system, more likely to offer jobs to graduates with SAP know-how, as well as to a SAP functional and technical novice and expert. The compensation for SAP consultants are ranked among the highest, with opportunities for job growth prospects, salary, quality of life and other benefits.
