Connecting CRM to Internet of Things
The Internet of Things, a fast emerging technology movement in which devices and services are being connected via the Internet, has the potential to create vast economic impact of up to $6.2 trillion annually by 2025, according to a 2013 study by McKinsey Global Institute.

How to Connect Cloud for Customer with IoT without Programming
I blogged before how to setup the Cloud for Customer business rule engine to trigger notification. see Enabling iOS Push Notification on Cloud for Customer. Since IFTTT already support various internet connected devices e.g. Nests Thermostat, Philips Hue, and Belkiin WEMO switch. We can basically follow the same steps instead of trigging a push notification, we can turn on or off the switch.
