We are happy to announce that SAP InnoJam will be back at CeBIT for the third time in a row. Students from all over the world are invited to apply for this ultimate coding challenge!

What is the SAP InnoJam

For those of you who have not yet heard about the InnoJam concept here a few facts and figures. The SAP InnoJam is a 32 hours coding contest where participants learn and use SAP technologies, partner with fellow participants to build a prototype solution for a real-life business scenario and work with domain experts who share their knowledge and expertise with the crowd. Throughout two days (some also stay up throughout the night :-)) the InnoJammers work on paper prototypes and later on build a running prototype solution and present that in front of a group of judges.

Different to the SAP InnoJam events hosted right before the big SAP TechEd events around the world, the SAP InnoJam @ CeBIT is only targeted at students. Approximately 70 students will compete for the title.

The Set-up

The hackathon will again be held in the heart of the CeBIT venue – the convention center. Starting on Tuesday, March 17, around 12 teams will work on their provided challenges. On the first day Design Thinking experts support the students in the process of coming up with creative and innovative ideas to solve the given problem. In the evening tech experts join the teams to help them in transferring their ideas into code. You will be able to choose from a selection of SAP technology products like SAP HANA Cloud Platform and SAP UI5. Wednesday afternoon the teams will present their demos to the jury but only the best teams will be able to showcase their demos live on the SAP CeBIT booth during the Award Ceremony on March 19.  This year’s theme will be around “Smart Cities”.

Tons of post its are already ordered, multiple cans of Red Bull and litres of coffee will be served throughout the event to keep the spirit (and/or caffeine level)up. Participants are welcome to bring their sleeping backs for a hard night of coding, but some sleeping gadgets will also be provided onsite ;-).
