Prerequisite:

BI4.1 SP05

Lumira Desktop 1.22.1

No BI Lumira add-on is installed on the BI Platform.

I discovered this by accident but it seems to work.

First, I set up the preferences to the BI platform from Lumira Desktop

The SAP BI Server has the cms name:6405/biprws

/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/2filesaveas_626703.jpg

I save the Lumira document to SAP BI – File > Save As > SAP BI

/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/3fileopen_626704.jpg

I created a Lumira folder in the CMC and save the document there.

Later, I can open the Lumira document from the BI Platform.

Could using the BI platform be a way to organize, store and save Lumira documents?

I hope to learn more at BI2015 in March.

    Hi, Tammy,

    Nice post and information.

I have a couple of questions:

    1. It seems that we can log into SAP BI via SAP Lumira only when SAP BI CMC.WebApplicationContainerServer is enabled and started (this provides us access to http://<BI>:6405/biprws service). What about the situation when only Tomcat is used? I’ve tried several options with Tomcat only but without success.
    2. Even though I have SAP BI 4.1 SP05 and SAP Lumira 1.22.1 and can successfully log into SAP BI via SAP Lumira while saving I am getting this error “Internal server error RWS 00070”. Any ideas where the problem might be?

Anyway the possibility to save both to SAP Lumira Edge and SAP BI will be a great feature.

    Best regards,

    Donatas Budrys

      Hello Donatas,

Thank you for reading and commenting.

On question 1, I don’t know; I am not a BI Admin. Would you please ask this as a question in the discussion area?

On question 2, I received a similar error, but it saved anyway. I am viewing as simply a “warning”.

        Hi, Tammy,

Thank you for your quick response.

Yes, I can confirm that after this error the LUMS document was successfully saved into BI Platform. Also I could open this SAP Lumira document from BI Platform without any error or issue via SAP Lumira / Home / SAP BI.

        Best regards,

        Donatas Budrys

          HI Donatas and Tammy

Thank you for sharing your experience. I am told that installing patch 1 in SP5 should make the error go away. I have not tried it myself.

          Thank you!

    Hi,

Thanks for pointing to this location. I am able to follow all the steps above in the screenshot but when I click on a story to share it populates the error attached./wp-content/uploads/2015/03/2015_03_24_12_10_25_670953.jpg

    Hi All,

I am facing a new issue while using the method described above:

    Env Details:

    BI 4.1 SP4 patch 1

    Lumira 1.23 build 70

Issue when I select the SAP BI and provide credentials (tried with administrator account as well), Folders are not listed.

    Lumira1.PNG

There are no explicit option to provide rights on the application and am able to see the folders in other applications.

    Please advice.

    Regards,

    Jatin

      Hi,

The prerequisite for this workflow is BI Platform SP05 (also confirmed at the top of this blog)

you can also confirm this through : Note 2099193 – What SAP Lumira functionality is included in SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform 4.1 Support Pack 5?

I guess the problem here is that your Desktop version shows the menu option, but your backend platform can’t support it.

      Regards,

      H
