Since predictions are the thing to do when a new year begins, here is the most anticipated trend of 2015 that is expected to empower businesses. Forrester forecasts that Cloud will become a major motivator in 2015 for both small businesses and large enterprises.

After announcing its preliminary results for the fourth quarter and full year 2014, SAP, as a global leader in the cloud computing, delivered exceptionally strong growth in the cloud and continues to lead in this industry-wide transformation. For the past year, the company impressively increased its cloud subscriptions and support revenue by 45% to €1.10 billion.

Yet, the growth of the cloud market is actively trending worldwide, its popularity is distinctively higher in developing countries than the rest of the globe.

Russia on the rise

For instance in Russia, by 2016, the volume of the cloud is about to constitute over $460 million with the average growth speed over 50%.

Being in the Top 10 Technology Trends of 2015 identified by Gartner, cloud can’t be ignored by businesses. The reasons why more and more businesses consider shifting to cloud solutions are flexibility, scale, and expenses cuts. In spite of lack of readiness of Russian law to the cloud and common globally security issues, today, Russian cloud market continues to grow steadily by 30-40% a year. (CNews)

As a country rich in big data, Russian entrepreneurs and businessmen truly appreciate the possibilities the cloud computing can bring to the table. Among the industries, highly interested in cloud solutions, are the banking sector, telecommunications, and retail. Recently, the government sector has been actively supporting and investing in IT innovations.

SAP Cloud services were introduced to the Russian market only in 2014. However, it didn’t stop the company to open its first Data Center in Russia last December. The new Data Center will become a part of the global structure of SAP Data Centers and be the industry standard in the field of cloud services in Russia. It will allow Russian customers to use its cloud services according to Russian law requirements.
