How-To-Guide: Install and Configure SAP Mobile Platform 3.0 SDK on Windows (1 of 2)

Overview:

The following documentation is designed as a walkthrough for users to install and configure SAP’s Mobile Platform SDK on Windows. As the newest release of SAP’s SMP series, I took interest in 3.0 to keep up with the ever-changing world of mobility. In my first attempt to install the software, I struggled and needed SAP assistance to complete the task. However, it is my hope that the documentation below is thorough enough for anyone looking to install the software. Please feel free to leave comments regarding any helpful hints you may have. Good luck!

Hardware Requirements

  • About 1GB hard disk space
  • Minimum of 4GB RAM
  • 2.1 GHZ processor

Task 1: Download and Prepare to Install Mobile SDK

Using your credentials, login to the SAP Marketplace. Navigate to the SAP Mobile Platform 3.0 SDK for Windows file and download. Right-click the SMP3SDKInstaller-3.0.3-win.zip file and select Extract all. Extract the files to a subdirectory under the SAP subdirectory.

      Hi Ashwin,

This looks like you are using an upgrade only installer, could you verify you have a MBO Toolkit SDK already installed, if not, download from software center the installer which contains MBO toolkit installer. Hope this helps.

      Thanks
