Since the transition of the SuccessFactors Certification and Enablement program into SAP Education began in September there have been a host of questions around the transition and the way forward for Cloud Certification. A December webinar for Cloud Partners helped to explain how SAP Education is changing the Global Certification Program in Q1/2015 to better fit the needs of the Cloud world and answers some of the questions being posed around the transition of the program.

https://event.on24.com/eventRegistration/EventLobbyServlet?target=lobby20.jsp&eventid=904783&sessionid=1&key=10CE957F40FBC55DE7C63AA1429DC748&eventuserid=109645929

In a world where current knowledge and skills in the ecosystem are more important for SAP, our partners and our customers than ever before, SAP Education will be launching the new Certification in the Cloud Program in March 2015 which has been developed together with the Certification and Enablement Influence Council. The program will make it simpler and more affordable for Cloud Consultants around the world to keep their knowledge and skills up to date in pace with the rapidly changing technology in our Cloud solution portfolio – and to validate that competence with a “Certified” stamp of approval from SAP.

Using all the advantages of Cloud solutions in the new concept this will enable all those involved in SAP Cloud solution project to get validation of the most current knowledge and skills they need for successful customer projects – in the timeframes needed, with an affordable model and minimizing the time away from projects. There will be a 12 month subscription available which will cover up to six exam attempts. Once you have your subscription set up you can schedule a remote proctor as little as an hour in advance of your desired exam time. The remote proctor will check your ID, check that the location is suitable for an uninterrupted exam experience and then give you access to the exam. The exam is delivered via a secure browser on your own PC or laptop so that there is no access to printers, Internet, etc. outside the exam application whilst you are taking the exam. During the exam you are linked to the remote proctor via a chat window and he/she will alert you if there are issues (phone ringing, someone enters the room, etc.) and give guidance on what action to take in order to be allowed to continue your exam. This makes it much easier to keep up to date with your certification – without losing valuable project time.

          /wp-content/uploads/2014/12/slide2_610999.png

Once you have your Associate certification completed you will receive regular notifications via SAP Credential Manager on when  Delta exams are available, how long you have to take them in order to remain certified. SAP Credential Manager also offers you a host of additional benefits and self-serve scenarios to help you organize your SAP Certification Progress.

What happens during the transition time for SuccessFactors Partners?

The new Certification in the Cloud Program will go live in March, 2015 but in the meantime SuccessFactors partners had a multitude of questions around what happens if they are already certified and how do they enter the new program or continue their training and certification during the transition period.

Hi Jimson – yes – the subscription will be available for all the exams in this concept ( Associate, Delta, Specialty) and should cover all your exam requirements for the year.

        Hi Sue,

Thanks for the quick response. So presently we have Associate Employee Central Exam THR81_1405, whether the subscription model applicable for this exam as well or its yet to start ?

          HI Jim

the subscription model will apply for all exams when it is launched in March, including those which are currently available, e.g. THR811_1405. By the way SF Learning is also available from today onwards.

    Hi All

Last week Luke Marson, Jon Reed and I recorded this two part series that I would recommend to anyone considering making the jump from SAP HCM to SuccessFactors including certification or OnPremise to Cloud based consulting.   We also talk about what customers should be on the lookout for.

    Becoming a HCM SaaS Consultant

Becoming a SuccessFactors SaaS Consultant – Deeper Dive

For those of you who like to read here is an article that outlines the content in the first video shown above.

The Pitfalls of becoming a HCM SaaS Consultant

Would love to get everyones thoughts and continue the dialog.

    Hi Sue;

    Two questions:

    1. Can you verify the Learning Hub (online training for all SF modules) subscription is different from the Credential Manager (exam & credential manager) Subscription?
    2. Has SAP started the grandfathering process for consultants who already hold SuccessFactors Professional Certifications?
    (0)
    1. Susan Martin Post author

      Hi Margaret

      1. Access to Credential Manager is free of charge to all certified individuals but the subscription referred to here is for taking the exams. This is indeed separate to the LH subscription for taking the training

      2. There were unfortunately delays in sending out the e-mails for this program but they should go out very soon.

      Hope that helps

    Hi

I m learning SF through Learning Hub and have below questions. Can you please answer them?

    1. Payment to be made to SAP and the mode of payment for appearing for SF EC core exam.
    2. Pre-requisites for EC core exam
    3. Please provide a list of Exam centres in US.  Can I change centre after booking; if yes what is the procedure?
    4. What is the time limit and how many questions?
    5. EC final certification Exam schedule – does SAP provide a schedule or we can schedule the date and timing as per our convenience. If SAP provides the schedule, how can I access the schedule for February and March in US/California?
    6. I have finished Introduction to SF Mastery through Learning Hub and got a certification for course completion. Now continuing EC. Is passing the EC test within Learning hub (LH) portal, a pre-requisite for appearing for the final EC certification exam? (there are 3 attempts to clear this test)
    7. Its mentioned in LH, that after 3 failed attempts, the course content will be removed and the learner has to approach SAP, for license related things. Will this incur additional cost? If yes, how much?
    8. Is there any detailed sample questionnaire available for EC core exam? Through the online links from SAP, I got one but it has some 9 or 10 questions only.
    9. Since the subscription for LH is one year, even after the successful completion of EC, will the study material for Introduction to SF mastery and EC still be available in LH? After successful completion, can I study and prepare for other certifications in other sub modules like GM & PM, LMS etc. using the same subscription? Or I have to renew it with additional cost? If yes, how much?
    10. Without LH subscription, can an employee of a SF registered implementation partner do certification? If yes, how? And what is the cost involved?
    11. I understand the word CORE Exam means the final Certification exam which the test taker takes up in US/Canada. After this, the respective (EC/GM&PM/LMS) certificate for Technical competency will be given to the test taker. Please confirm/correct if I m wrong.

would appreciate direct answers rather than links which are not really giving direct answers and they lead to further queries like the above. Sorry to bother you with these many questions and Thanks.

    1. Susan Martin Post author

      Hi Raj – I will try –

      • Payment to be made to SAP and the mode of payment for appearing for SF EC core exam. PLEASE BOOK ONLINE VIA SAP TRAINING SHOP OR CONTACT YOUR LOCAL SAP EDUCATION TEAM FOR PAYMENT MODES AND PRICES AS THEY VARY BY REGION https://training.sap.com/shop/certification/c_thr81_1405-sap-certified-application-associate—sap-hcm-cloud-employee-ce…
      • Pre-requisites for EC core exam THERE ARE NO MANDATORY PREREQUISITES BUT THE EXAMS ARE DESIGNED ON THE BASIS THAT YOU HAVE HAD COMPREHENSIVE TRAINING AND SOME INITIAL SYSTEM EXPERIENCE
      • Please provide a list of Exam centres in US.  Can I change centre after booking; if yes what is the procedure? PLEASE CONSULT THE SAP TRAINING SHOP FOR DETAILS AROUND WHERE TO SCHEDULE AND HOW. YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR BOOKING UP TO 24 HOURS PRIOR FREE OF CHARGE AT A PEARSON VUE CENTER.
      • What is the time limit and how many questions? 3 HOURS & 80 QUESTIONS
      • EC final certification Exam schedule – does SAP provide a schedule or we can schedule the date and timing as per our convenience. If SAP provides the schedule, how can I access the schedule for February and March in US/California? SEE THE TRAINING SHOP LINK ABOVE
      • I have finished Introduction to SF Mastery through Learning Hub and got a certification for course completion. Now continuing EC. Is passing the EC test within Learning hub (LH) portal, a pre-requisite for appearing for the final EC certification exam? (there are 3 attempts to clear this test) NO BUT ADVISABLE
      • Its mentioned in LH, that after 3 failed attempts, the course content will be removed and the learner has to approach SAP, for license related things. Will this incur additional cost? If yes, how much? I AM SORRY BUT I AM NOT AWARE OF THAT SO YOU REALLY NEED TO ASK YOUR LOCAL SAP EDUCATION TEAM.
      • Is there any detailed sample questionnaire available for EC core exam? Through the online links from SAP, I got one but it has some 9 or 10 questions only. WE ONLY PROVIDE A SUBSET OF SAMPLE QUESTIONS -SORRY
      • Since the subscription for LH is one year, even after the successful completion of EC, will the study material for Introduction to SF mastery and EC still be available in LH? After successful completion, can I study and prepare for other certifications in other sub modules like GM & PM, LMS etc. using the same subscription? Or I have to renew it with additional cost? If yes, how much?  YOUR LH SUBSCRIPTION IS NOT SPECIFIC TO A SOLUTION AREA BUT CAN BE USED FOR DIFFERENT AREAS.
      • Without LH subscription, can an employee of a SF registered implemeBestntation partner do certification? If yes, how? And what is the cost involved? PLEASE SEE ABOVE LINKS
      • I understand the word CORE Exam means the final Certification exam which the test taker takes up in US/Canada. After this, the respective (EC/GM&PM/LMS) certificate for Technical competency will be given to the test taker. Please confirm/correct if I m wrong. YES – IT IS THE ASSOCIATE EXAM

      I hope that helps,

        Hi Sue

Thanks for your response. I now have clarity or scheduling, rescheduling, pre-requisites etc. I have 3 more questions.

        1. Without Learning Hub subscription/virtual class room training, can an employee of a SAP SuccessFactors registered implementation partner company appear for SF Employee central certification directly by paying $500? If yes, please elaborate on the procedures.

NOTE: The link you provided did not have answer for this question. It detailed about all other factors.

        2. Training material update for new releases:

I subscribed for Learning Hub by November 2014. I see the quarterly releases coming up by February, May and August 2015. I want to know whether the 2015 releases (and Delta portion) will be updated to my Learning Hub (which was subscribed in Nov. 2014) study materials (videos, flip books etc). If yes, how? Should I raise any specific request or its taken care during your periodical maintenance?

        3. Regarding Delta exams: How do I get access to the delta portion of study materials. Is there any additional cost involved for delta certification exams?

NOTE: Please give me direct answers or guide me to the mail Ids of people who can provide me inputs in this regard.

        Thanks

    Hello Sue,

Thank you for the article. Since the certification is open to individual consultants now, will they have Provisioning rights even if they are not SAP Registered Partner Employee?

    Thanks

    1. Prasanna Manikandan Balu

      Hi Radha,

The below information is printed in (https://training.sap.com/shop/certification/c_thr81_1405-sap-certified-application-associate—sap-hcm-cloud-employee-ce…)

      • Only registered SAP Partner consultants will be provided with provisioning rights once they have been certified. Independent consultants, even if certified, will not be provided with provisioning rights. There are no exceptions to this policy.

      Hence it’s a No.

      Hi Andreas,

those certifications are still valid and you should receive an E-Mail to transfer your data as certified into the SAP Systems. I will check back with the Team if you have not received the E-Mail. Is that so?

      Hi Vanessa,

no – if they are certified they are automatically adopted into the certification program. All they need to pay for is the delta exams in the future to Keep their knowledge up to date.

    Hello!

There are number of certifications already available for cloud (SuccessFactors), but there is a difference in naming.

Could you elaborate what is the difference between Certified Application Associate (like in Learning exam) and Certified Application Consultant (like in Performance and Goals)?

Also, as I understand, Succession is the only “Specialty” exam because it consists of 40 questions. Does SME level means “Specialty”?

Does SME exam gives consultant an Succession Application Associate level or would he require do complete additional exams to become Associale, like Development exam which is not available yet?

On the certification level explanations page, Specialty exams are described as “addition to Associate exams”, so in the context of Succession what is the exam to which Succession is the “addition”?

    Hi Team,

Is it applicable to all certifications or only for Employee Central and Learning certifications. Do we have delta certifications for Succession management and other TR modules as well.

One of my team member has completed Succession Management certifications (class room training) around 3 years back. So do they have to apply for new certification again?

Thanks Luke for the response. So the Succession certifications completed by these resources, will hold good.

Also they should then have access to customer production instances as well? OR do we have any other dependency/ prerequisites like completing PMGM or CDP certifications.

        Thanks!
