It’s that time again to report out to everyone the new features and enhancements we have added for
Employee Central Payroll Time Sheet
Employees can record, submit and even edit their time sheets in the Payroll Time Sheet. Employees can immediately see the results of time valuations, including overtime calculations. Payroll systems can grab the data and pay employees based on the recorded time.
The system will calculate hours worked and will determine overtime based on configured rules regarding overtime pay per day or week. Based on the times recorded, the system performs a daily or weekly overtime calculation according to configurable business rules and generates pay components.
Variable overtime thresholds are allowed in this feature as well. For example, overtime is recorded as 1.0 for the first two hours and then is bumped up to 1.5 for each additional hour afterwards per day or per week. An optional approval for the time sheet is provided. The pay components are stored in APIs so that Payroll providers can read the data and pay the employee according to the recorded hours.

Position Management is a foundation for supporting a company’s organizational planning and management. With Position Management, organizations can design an ideal organization structure based on a hierarchy of positions. This ideal organization structure can determine what resources are needed and from where in the organization. Position Management can also be a repository of historical information where managers can keep records of incumbents that have historically filled a particular position. This type of information is invaluable support for analysis of succession data, development of requisitions and job profiles. It’s high time I praised this amazing feature of Employee Central and expect more to come in upcoming blogs!
In this release, we expanded capabilities to support shared positions and mass positions. We also added some automation to position types making it easier to quickly move an existing successor to a supervisor position should a vacancy occur based on feedback from customers.
With this release, we’re continuing our commitment to improve upon the functionality of Global Benefits and we add the ability to manage pensions in Global Benefits. This framework was started in the Q3 release and in this release we enable HR Administrators the ability to do the following:
- Create Pension Plan
- Specify funds
- Associate pay component for Employee
- Employee contributions
- Define percentages/ amounts
Employees can then do the following with pensions:
- Select funds
- Specify contributions
- Select nominees.

We are truly the leader in globalization with localization in 71 countries for Employee Central. Our focus in this release has been to add additional support to meet recent the legal compliance needs. As always, we ensure that all delivered functionality remains correct and up-to-date in terms of legal changes. No functionality must get invalidated by a legal change.
We also provide necessary information and guidance to our customers to simplify their adoption of legal changes. Some notable activities to continue our leadership in globalization are:
- Brazil, new due dates are available as well as National ID format validation. The new due date refers to the effective date of legal changes related to esocial.
- USA, a new field has been provided to capture date of separation for employees who have left military service more than 3 years ago.
- National ID validations were added for Argentina and Ukraine.
- Gender Value, apart from male and female gender, we have added three additional values that can be added to this field.
Finally, to continue our leadership in Globalization, we understand that automation is a requirement for non-technical users so in this release we enable master data replication from Excel.
Hope you enjoyed all our releases this year. I know I’ve been amazed with all the new products & enhanced features. Will try to send one more blog before end of year!
