SAP Labs Israel IT – making another difference

On December 7th 2014, for the holiday of Hanukkah, Israel IT department made another voluntary activity.

The activity took place at Chimes’ sheltered workshop for people with varied disabilities located in Rosh Ha’Ayin, Israel.
“Chimes Israel” is a non-profit organization whose mission is to work towards improving the quality of life of people with special needs of all ages, from all sectors, by providing high-quality, professional treatment, rehabilitation, employment and leisure services in the community.

This facility offers services to approximately 100 people with various disabilities, including autism, mental health issues, intellectual and developmental disabilities, rehabilitation and other low-functioning conditions, working side-by-side. Chimes believe in this heterogeneous approach where every person has something to contribute and something to learn from the other.

The employees there are rewarded in accordance with their production, so that day when we helped them, their output has risen and in accordance so their wage.
We participated in Hanukkah packs packaging (tops with candy, for example) in cooperation with the factory workers.

It is important to note that the most significant thing for them, beyond the money, is getting to know new people – they are happy to see visitors and interact with them.

SAP Labs Israel IT is grateful for another opportunity to contribute back to the community.
