On November 21, students from tri-state area schools participating in the GENYOUth Foundation program visited the Newtown Square SAP headquarters for a workshop led by SAP volunteers to ignite their entrepreneurial spirit. These students, ranging in ages 13-15, were exposed to the insights of various SAP leaders and content experts during a “Leadership Bootcamp”. The students were then challenged to take an “old toy” and make it more relevant in today’s market by giving it a makeover.
To end the workshop, the presentations were judged by the same SAP volunteers who presented as leaders and experts in their field. The student pitched their new product in a “Shark Tank” style set up. During their new product presentations, it was evident that the GenYOUth students had incorporated key learnings from the SAP leaders.
While the SAP judges deliberated their decision on best presentation, the GenYOUth participants gathered outside and shared their thoughts about the workshop. They spoke about how much fun they were having, how interesting the SAP volunteers were and that the “people who work at SAP are SO COOL!” (direct quote :wink: ).
Giving them that chance to shine really made a HUGE impact on them.
