      Hi Donka,

when I first saw the SAP Hana Cloud Portal I wondered about using it as a Web Access Management Solution.

And reading this article, I wonder again, isn't SAP Cloud Identity perfectly placed as an SAP alternative to common Web Access Management solutions such as SiteMinder etc ?

More and more my work is involving Web Access to SAP, for employees and third party companies, and a Web Access Management solution from SAP would provide an alternative entrance which would be difficult to ignore.

Is it the plan to evolve SAP Cloud Identity into a full blown Web Access Management solution and giving SAP Customers an alternative choice than the current offerings such as the SiteMinder etc ?

      Kind regards,

      Andy.

      Hello Andy,

SAP offers Single Sign-On solution and federation capabilities since many years with the SAP Single Sign-On product.

The new SAP Cloud Identity (SCI) service, released in September this year, is a Software as a Service (SaaS) solution. It is hosted by SAP in highly secure data centers – which means you can count on competent maintenance, high availability, and data privacy, as well as a low cost of ownership.

One important benefit of the SCI product is that the solution is available from anywhere and from any device.

Self-service capabilities and branding capabilities are also part of the important features of the SCI product specially for Business-to-Consumer and Business-to-Business scenarios. But all these details are available in the SAP Cloud Identity Solution Brief and in the SCN page, references in my blog.

      Kind regards,

      Hi Donka,

that is all great and begs the question,

Is it the plan to evolve SAP Cloud Identity into a full blown Web Access Management solution and giving SAP Customers an alternative choice than the current offerings such as the SiteMinder etc ?

No problem if you cannot say, but for sure, it would be nice if SAP evolved the Identity and Access Solutions into a full blown WAM solution and giving customers more choice in that market when choosing suitable WAM solutions.

      Kind regards,

      Andy.

      Hello Andy,

The goal of the SAP security products is to cover identity and access management for on-premise and on-demand (SAP and non-SAP) solutions. With the latest release of our SAP Single Sign-On product, we offer also Mobile Single Sign-On and Risk-Based Authentication.

Our goal is not just to cover the Web Access Management but to offer security solution for every customer scenario running on-premise or in the Cloud.

      Kind regards,

      Donka Dimitrova
