Redefine your SAP Deployment Using the Cloud Service Model

The oil and gas industry has long been focused on profitable operations, and the diving price of oil is only increasing focus in this area.  One way companies can differentiate here is with the rapid deployment and adoption of technology to increase time to value from investments.

Even though the oil and gas industry is a conservative one, deployment using the Cloud model is becoming more and more popular to transform operations.  Peter Reynolds, industry analyst at ARC Advisory Group, attended the Best Practices for Oil and Gas conference in Houston last month, and met with companies using the cloud deployment model.  One such company was floating LNG solution provider Excelerate Energy, who selected the public cloud deployment model as their new paradigm using Amazon Web Services.  By selecting this new paradigm, Excelerate accelerated technology deployment and created a business environment that now supports agility and rapid deployment. Their approach minimized common headaches associated with plant software and related IT infrastructure, greatly enhanced agility, and offered potentially limitless capability to provide the underlying infrastructure for industrial applications in the plant, including resource-intensive advanced analytics and operational solutions.

Read more in Peter’s white paper on the topic here and let us know what you think.
