SAP B1 9.0: Using Wireless LAN Router to connect Android mobile device to Laptop

Objective

This document is aimed to explain how to connect the Android’s OS mobile device that is installed with SAP B1 mobile application 1.1.5  to Laptop (Server Standalone) that is installed with SAP B1 9.0 PL14.

Prerequisite

  • SAP B1 9.0 PL14 and SQL 2012 installed in the Laptop as server standalone, e.g. win 7 Pro/Ultimate/Enterprise x64
  • SAP B1 for mobile application 1.1.5
  • SAP B1 integration component 9.0 PL14
  • Mobile Device with Android’s Operating System

1. B1DI and JDBC Test ConnectionsIntegration framework setting or configuration must be checked and make sure all connections and configuration required have been OK

  • Open the Integration framework from Starts –> All Programs –> Integration Solution for SAP Business One
  • Use the address: https://servername:8443/xxx
  • Logon using B1iadmin and enter the password
  • In the SLD, make sure the B1DI connection and JDBC connection are successfull

2. SAP B1i Mobile Activation

  • Open the Integration framework from Starts –> All Programs –> Integration Solution for SAP Business One
  • Use the address: https://servername:8443/xxx
  • Logon using B1iadmin and enter the password
  • Click “Scenarios” > Click “Control” and tick sap.B1Mobile
  • Under the “Scenarios”, click “Setup” > Check if the Status is active or Not Active. Status must be Active.

3. Router Configuration.

  • Turn on the Router after configuration finish
  • Enable the DHCP
  • Enter the network name in the router, e.g., SAPA and the network encryption, i.e. WEP
  • Enter the network security key

4. Connecting the Laptop to Router

  • Click the network icon in the windows task bar
  • Click “Connect” button of the network “SAPA”
  • Enter the security key
  • After that, the Laptop is connected to the network and the laptop will have an IP Address
  • Check the IP address of the Laptop using command prompt. The IP address is checked in the IPv4 Address of the “Wireless Network Connection” (Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection)

5. Connecting the Mobile Device to Router Network

  • Turn on the Wi-Fi in the Android Mobile Device
  • Choose the “SAPA” network and connect to the “SAPA” network
  • Enter the security key
  • After that the Mobile Device is connected to “SAPA” network

6. Connection Test from Laptop to Mobile Device

  • Check the IP address of the mobile device in the “SAPA” network > DHCP
  • Open a command prompt in the Laptop
  • Ping the IP Address of the “SAPA” network from the Laptop
  • Enter
  • There should be a reply message from the mobile device IP in the command prompt

7. Configure the Mobile Device

  • Open the Business One Settings of SAP B1 Mobile App. 1.1.5 in the mobile device

  • In the WEB SERVICE > Server, enter the Laptop IP address. Use the step 4 to get the IP Address
  • Enter the Port 8443
  • Check the SSL

  • In the “LOGON SETTING”, enter the the CompanyDB, i.e. DB name, e.g. Demo
  • Enter the user code in the User Code, e.g. “manager”
  • Enter the mobile phone number in the Phone Num (not mandatory)

  • Mark the user with Mobile User check
  • Enter the mobile for Number but not mandatory
  • Enter the mobile device ID, we can get it in the Business One Settings of mobile device > Device ID

  • Click “Update Button” after finish

After the step 8 is finished, the SAP B1 mobile application 1.1.5 can open the SAP B1 9.0 PL14 database in the Laptop.Here are the print screen to login and the logon result:1. Logon the SAP B1 Mobile 1.1.5     logon start.jpg

  • Enter the password in  the Logon window
  • Tap OK

      All settings was performed, but the error occurs in the print, which may wrong?
