The ASUG Virginia Chapter is seeking feedback on input to planning for 2015.  You are invited to Take the survey

Virginia is a big state, geographic-wise.  Should chapter meetings be held near Virginia Beach or Northern Virginia?  Are Friday's a good day for chapter meetings?  This is why you are invited to Take the survey

This year the Chapter had meetings in Lorton, Virginia and Williamsburg, Virginia.  The turnout in Lorton was amazing with over 100+ registered and 90 in attendance.  Attendees also took a tour of the water treatment plant.  In Williamsburg, attendees spent the afternoon at the golf course after a morning of chapter sessions.

Unique Event

In August, the Chapter held a full two day SAP HANA® for ABAP Developers Workshop in Herndon, Virginia at Amazon. This was a hands-on workshop in which 45 participants were given access to SAP’s HANA training center on AWS (Amazon Web Services). The instructors for the workshop were Rich Heilman and Thomas Jung.  The workshop was enjoyed by everyone that attended and we hope to host more SAP HANA workshops in 2015.

I wrote a recap ASUG Virginia SAP HANA for Developers Workshop (Part 1) Recap and sorry to say I couldn't find time to finish sharing my notes.

Looking forward to 2015

The Chapter Volunteers are currently in the planning stages for the 2015 calendar. They hope to partner with other SIG Communities and other ASUG Communities for an industry-focused meeting in April. Additionally, they hope to host a summer event in the Richmond area, as well as a third Chapter meeting in the fall.

ASUG Annual Conference and SAPPHIRE® NOW will take place May 5-7, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. Registration will open soon and call for presentations for ASUG content will open soon. Your ASUG Volunteers hope to see you there.
