Last year we heard you Announcing ASUG BI 2013 Community Survey Results and this year as of October 2014 the ASUG BI Volunteers held almost 70 webcasts.  There are more scheduled the rest of this year and into 2015 as well.

This is why your feedback is requested.  What types of webcasts do you want?  Did you participate in the face-to-face events such as ASUG Annual Conference, the SAP Analytics BusinessObjects Conference, or SAP TechEd && d-code?  The ASUG BI community helped sponsor two sold-out pre-conference sessions this year - should these continue?  What about one of the many ASUG Influence Councils?  Are more needed? Take the survey today and tell us.

The ASUG BI Community is made up of 6 special interest groups:

  • Analytics (Analysis, Lumira)
  • BI Platform
  • Dashboarding (Dashboards, Design Studio)
  • Data Management
  • Enterprise Data Warehousing (BW, BW on HANA)
  • Reporting (Crystal Reports, Web Intelligence)

Looking Back at 2014 so Far

Using Lumira Visualize Your Success Virtual Brief Class Notes I took the ASUG BI Webcast statistics (this was the #1 most used ASUG offering per the 2013 survey) to see where we stand - also access the InfoGraphic here:

  • In 2014, 69 webcasts were held by ASUG BI as of October 2014
  • 15,220 registered for our webcasts

Our own volunteers wanted to see more non-SAP speakers this year, which is something we tried to do below:

Green represents SAP speakers; you can see the Dashboarding SIG had a good mixture of SAP and non-SAP speakers.

A stacked bar chart is used to show the "contribution relationship" per the Lumira Visualize Your Success Virtual Brief Class Notes instead of a pie chart.

Which time of year did most attendees register for a webcast?  See below:

You can see above that the second quarter webcasts had the most registered.

A column chart is used to show how it "evolved" over time.

Deviating a little from the Lumira class, a bar chart shown above shows the number of all webcasts by SIG as of October 2014.

A pie chart of the same information shows that Data Management has over 28% of the total ASUG BI webcast registrants.

For fun, the bubble chart shows a correlation: the SIG with the most webcasts had the most webcast registrants (Data Management)
