Hints on using CNC Programs

This blog post is for those, who decided to use CNC Programs but cannot find out how to tie the Program/Resource/CNC Machine.

So, you:

–     Define a CNC Program in CNC Program Maintenance.

–     When you attach it, you have to specify the Resource.

–     The CNC Machine field in the attachment details window is greyed out by design and will be populated with the value from Resource Maintenance.

To set this field visible in Resource Maintenance you have to set ‘CNC/DNC Type’ System Rule (i.e. to CNC).

The field will be a not modifiable browse. The browse will retrieve the list of CNC Machines from the CNC Server, which you specify in the ‘CNC/DNC Server’ System Rule (format server:port). ME will make a webservice call to the server, so make sure the CNC Server is accessible.
