      Hi Alex,

I've got some questions for you:

      • Do you have any information on license fees for the enterprise edition yet?
      • Is it necessary to install a new ABAP addon (in additon to CRMGWS) or patch the existing addon CRMGWS?
      • Is it necessary to install a new DCN client or customizing ZIP file? If no, how can one migrate from professional to enterprise edition?
      • When will the Lotus Notes version of professional and/or enterprise edition be available?

      Thanks & regards

      Wolfgang

      Hi Wolfgang,

do to our policy I cannot give here the price, but the price list is just released and gives more information. In case you need more information here kindly reach out to your account manager.

Technically the AddOn for the enterprise edition on ABAP side is a service pack. So you can just upgrade your existing installation. Kindly be aware that the enterprise features are only available once you switched the business function on.

The professional and enterprise edtition can run in parallel, so it is dependent from what you want to achieve. In general you can migrate your existing CP.

We are currently working on a Lotus version which will be available in early 2015.

      Hope this helps

      Hi Alex,

so to activate enterprise edition, one has to apply the latest SPS for CRMGWS (ABAP addon) and activate a business function. The client then will know whether to run in professional or enterprise mode, right? How is it then possible to run both solutions parallel?

      Regards

      Wolfgang

      Hello Wolfgang,

basically you need to install the latest SP for the GWS and the CRM AddOn. In CRM you will find the switch to enable enterprise functions on the backend.

Now you can decide to install either the professional or the enterprise client. In the first sync the server will send the correct CP back to the client (Outlook).

So dependent on the clients installation you can use professional or enterprise functionality.

      Hope this helps

      Hello Alex,

today we've installed SPS5 of CRMGWS, so we'll test enterprise edition right away.

One more question: on SAP marketplace software download area (/SWDC), I've noticed that there's an additional path for DCN EE in both installations and patches. Is it planned to deliver different installation files / patches for professional and enterprise edition?

      Regards

      Wolfgang

      Hi Wolfgang,

best would be to distinguish between frontend (outlook) and backend (CRM):

From a frontend point of view is is a new installation file for the enterprise edition. Additionally a matching customization pack is needed to leverage the full functionality.

On the backend we deliver the enterprise edition technically as a SP in which you need to enable the business function.

By the way, enterprise and professional edition can run in parallel on the same machine. The client requests the correct customization package from the backend.

      Hope this helps

      Hello Alex,

      Thanks for sharing this document.

Do you have any information where we could download the XML-file for enterprise edition? On SAP SWDC there is a new topic “SAP CRM DESKTOP EE” but there is no data available.

      Thanks & regards

      Hi Manfred,

unfortunately the enterprise edition is assigned to a new license and not free of charge like the professional one. Therefor you need to check if you are entitled for license no 7017842 to be able to download the product.

      Hope this helps
