We hope the introduction blog, Kick Start of 2014 SAPTd Berlin was helpful for you to build your agenda for the SAPtechEd && Dcode - Berlin. Now, lets see the highlights of Day1.

First day was kicked off with keynote  by Bernd Leukert, Member of the Executive Board of SAP SE, Products & Innovation at city cube level 2. Bernd Leukert responsible for development and delivery of all products across SAP's product portfolio including applications, analytics, cloud, database and technology, and mobile. Leukert is also responsible for leading the design and end-user experience for SAP.

Bernd Leukert started with the art of being digital and covered 3 main topics (Platform, Applications and Network) .

The Head of products and innovation technology, Bjorn Goerke spoke about the Hana platform, one truth, one platform and one experience. He showcased a demo on how easy it is to build customized apps by reducing barriers. Watch demo replay. He announced the next wave of innovation"SAP HANA SPS09".  

Following Bjorn, the next topic on Network was covered by Sanish Mondkar, Executive VP, Chief Executive Product Officer, SAP Procurement and Business network.

Following the keynote sessions, shop floor events and educational break out sessions started. Some of the educational sessions are code Jam mini editions, code review sessions etc.

SAP Gateway for Microsoft, scheduled 3 Code Jam mini editions sessions today. Immediately, after the Keynote session CJ614 titled "Enterprise-Ready .NET Applications Leveraging SAP Gateway for Microsoft" started.  In this session, all the participants completed all the .NET applications. Congratulations to participants who completed successfully!  Our Product Manager, holger.bruchelt was completely engaged with all the participants presenting the value proposition of SAP Gateway for Microsoft.


Next, CodeJam CJ612 session was on the topic: Outlook Integration via SAP Gateway for Microsoft Leveraging SAP Fiori. This session was fully booked. We planned for 18 participants and assigned laptops  but apparently they were totally 60 participants some of them were standing around the area to listen to the session. There was a lot of interest in audience to see how SAP and Microsoft integration works. Our Product Expert, holger.bruchelt showcased the Outlook integration and also showcased how the same data can be surfaced to the Microsoft Excel.Participants were excited about this cool integration!! :smile: They got a very good understanding about being able to access the data to SAP Fiori, Microsoft Outlook, Excel and other applications which ultimately excited the audience.

The third session was CodeJam CJ600, Integrate SAP Data in Microsoft Outlook via SAP Gateway for MSFT. We had full participation for this CJ 600 session also. Holger Bruchelt also spoke about the Office365 integration which would enable the usage of SAP data in Office on iOS or Andriod. Today, we also scheduled our first roadmap & Product QA session, ITM 824.  There were a total of 50 participants who attended the session. This session was more interactive sessions with a lot of questions from the participants about Office 365 integration. When our Product Manager spoke about our future plans of integration with SAP Mobile Platform (SMP) there was a very positive feedback  from the audience. There were also many SMP product roadmap sessions MOB829 scheduled today. This session was presented by sami.lechner he showcased how SAP simplifies mobile development for the enterprise and their employees, business partners, and customers. Whether on premise or cloud-based, the SAP Mobile Platform makes it easy to develop, manage, and run mobile enterprise applications and mobile consumer applications quickly and securely. We also discuss how the platform will evolve in the future.

In addition to the codeJam sessions there were also InnoJam sessions held at SAPTechEd. Within two days, InnoJam participants mingle with a diverse group of experts and developers while building internet of things solutions for real life agricultural situations. Fun & Excitement continued with dance and music at the end of the day. Geeks dance in bands and enjoyed!
