Hello,

I had a strange story with SAP Business One. The story started about two years ago ( on the beginning of 2012 ) and I think it will never end  .

I was working in a family business. We had a local system with lots of bugs but it was working fine at that time. I don't remember how I visited SAP website but the story started with visiting SAP website and submitting a web form. The next day someone phoned me from SAP and asked some questions about our business. After a couple of days, one of SAP partners visited us. They sent us an offer but it was out of our budget. I thought it was the end, since we were running a good software with little issues.  The SAP partner who visited us, sent a better offer and we signed the contract with them. I was involved in the system implementation and master data transfer.  I tried to learn how to do things myself not to get things done for me.  I watched lots of the videos on the Internet and read a lot.

After using SAP Business One for two years, I have decided to leave the family business and apply for an SAP Business One Consultant position.

Using SAP Business One for two years helped me to get into all the modules. Because I was working in the a family business and I was responsible to develop our business, I tried my best to get the most of the system by making the business processes faster and smoother. Now, we are feeling that we are running our business better and we can measure the successs of the implementation of SAP Business One in our business through the following points:

  • We are now able to analyze our data and make better decisions
  • We have control over the business workflow by using approvals, setting authorization and blocking some actions by adding code to SP_TransactionNotification procedure
  • We can focus on our business growth

My advice to the people who want to learn SAP Business One:

  • To learn about all the modules.
  • To understand the business logic.
  • To get familiar with the Query Generator

Good luck for every one

Best ragards,

Alaa
