Participants of SAP TechEd && d-code Berlin can learn from customers and partners, who share their insights in a comprehensive and open minded way as part of lecture DEV207 „Customers present best practices for ABAP and SAP HANA Cloud Platform” (Tuesday Nov-11, 4:30 - 6:30pm, room L13, City Cube L1 - A5).
After a short overview of SAP HANA Platform (incl. ABAP on HANA, SAPUI5, quick start in the cloud with ABAP on HANA Developer Edition and SAP HANA Cloud Platform), experts from three organizations will provide detailed findings of their innovation projects:
The first customer project of this session will be presented by Markus Theilen from EWE, where a mission critical custom ABAP report (Z program) has been accelerated by a factor greater than 1K using the code pushdown principle of ABAP for HANA. This performance boost enables significantly improved busines processes of multiple LoB's at EWE.
Gregor Wolf (Osram) shares best practices and findings when using "SAP Fiori as a Service" for better user experience and simplification. This emerging offering is based on SAP HANA Cloud Platform. Connection of cloud based UI's with an on-premise customer SAP system and customer specific extensions in backend (ABAP) and UI (SAPUI5) are key characreristics of this pilot project.
Paul Ritschel and Vadim Laas from SAP partner Compiricus explains the pro's and con's of the third scenario, where SAP HANA Cloud Platform is used for a new cloud solution (Trade Accelerator) with tight connections to on-premise ERP systems.
