Day 0: SAP TechEd && d-code BI Preconference session

First I must thank ASUG volunteer Joyce Butler for “manning the door”.  There were 6 sessions on Monday and one of them was sold out – BI4.1 w/ BW on HANA, all in a day.

In talking with people who came to the door, interested in the session, it sounded like they just found out about it.  I wish I had a way to better promote these sessions so they are known earlier.

We had a minor issue with the BW connections against Web Intelligence but the SAP IT team fixed it by the next break.  All in all, attendees completed exercises using Web Intelligence against BW, Analysis Office, Analysis OLAP, and Lumira

Below are some key slides from the session:

Attendees experienced hands-on with all the products shown above.

Some attendees were not are of the upcoming convergence with the EPM Excel client.  Questions were asked about when Analysis Office will support broadcasting; answer, you don’t see it in the roadmap.

Another feature that received a great deal of attention this week was fragments, shown above.  Ingo compared them to BusinessObjects Explorer exploration views.

See this important slide above – it is important.  I’ll learned way more about upcoming BW Lumira integration plans (always subject to change) – I’ll save that for another blog.

The above slide was in every presentation I attended.  I’ll try to remember to include it in every blog

Finally, I did an Animoto of scenes from the day here
