Breakout session by Hector Ibarra and Tomasz Koczorowski at SUSECon 2014

In this session we would like to share Bombardier’s key design elements and migration experiences. Focus will be set on standardization, cost-effectiveness and platform availability. We will also emphasize on a smart way to define a disaster recovery strategy and patch management.

Bombardier has managed to redefine its SAP infrastructure by introducing a fully supported solution which takes SUSE Linux as a core component. Around it other elements such as hardware, virtualisation software, open source monitoring system were chosen with cost awareness and value in mind. This solution allowed Bombardier to enable an efficient platform that would be suitable for replacing its legacy UNIX systems.

“Open Source – Open for Business – Open for Our Customers and Partners.”

With this slogan, SUSECon 2014 invites the international SUSE Enterprise community to Orlando from November 17 to 21. At numerous presentations, workshops, and one-to-one conversations, find out what opportunities SUSE Linux can offer your company to make SAP systems fit for the business requirements of the future. For the third time already, users, developers, and technicians from throughout the world will meet at the annual SUSECon in Florida to network and share experiences.
