  • Dedicated System for Promotion Management
  • Promotion Management Architecture

Promotion Management Best Practice

  • Promoting Content
  • Ad-hoc Content

  • Connection Mapping
  • Lots more tips and advice

Register for this event, for free, at https://enablement.sapevents.com/

View the list of other webinars in the series at http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-56308 (including recordings to previously held webinars)

I have just one hour to cover a very large topic, but I will fill it with some great advice. It’s a must for anyone upgrading to BI4, especially those new to BI4. If you’re already familiar with BI4 and Promotion/Version Management, then you should still hope to see some great hints and tips.

Hope to see you then.

      Hi Matthew,

I'm a bit late to the party but watched the recording of this webinar this week!

For the case where you add a Promotion Job to Version Management to also commit all objects in the job to the VMS, it would seem that this only works when you are running Promotion Management in Development? Checking in the Job only checks the child objects in on the local system?

I can't see that this nifty feature is going to be available if you have a separate Promotion recommended Management system or run Promotion Management from your Production environment, both recommended as better options than using Development.

      Am I missing something?

      Many thanks,

      Mike

I had this exact same question. Did you ever get any clarification on it?

      Hello Matt,

We are facing issue while promotion jobs in BI 4.1 as well as in BI 4.2, where user is part of administrator group but he is facing security right violation error for some objects and there is no fix pattern. We tried to resolve issue with below KBA but no luck.

1800277 - Error: Security right violation encountered and Promotion Jobs are partially successful

SAP ticket is open but there is no reply because we are not able to replicate this issue as it is intermittent.

Do you have any idea about this issue.

      Hello Atul,

      I don't, sorry.

You may find that if you post your question as a 'question' to the community (https://answers.sap.com/questions/ask.html), rather than as a comment to a blog you might get some more help. Best to use a tag 'SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform'.

Also, if you can show a few lines in the log with the error.

      regards, Matthew
