In response to the increasing voices for support B1H on virtualization environment from the market, along with the announcement of support B1H on VMware vSphere for productive usage some time ago, now SAP has just officially added the Amazon Web Services to the portfolio of production support SAP Business One, version for SAP HANA on on public Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platforms. Two major EC2 instance types of AWS have been certified for productive B1H with a joint effort of SAP and Amazon, as c3.8xlarge with a memory of 60 G RAM and r3.8xlarge with a memory of 244 G. In addition, another two types of EC2 instance have also been certified for non-productive use as r3.2xlarge and r3.4xlarge. A certified matrix of AWS for B1H as below:

For example,  a HANA Server of B1H on c3.8xlarge + 50 hours/week + 3 years medium reserve may cost 389.35 USD every month

Important Tip: To lower the monthly bill from AWS, you are recommended to stop the instance if they are not in use, such as after office hours in workdays, during the weekend and holidays. For the AWS expense is calculated by hours. Otherwise, you may receive a bill from AWS over 1000 USD by month.

You should go through how-to guide carefullyabout how to deploy SAP B1 on HANA on AWS step by step. The certified AMS instances just provision an empty virtual machine. All the components of SAP HANA and B1H have to be installed by manual as it is in physical servers. Please refer to the following documents about how to install/upgrade SAP HANA and B1H:

To speed up the B1H setup on AWS,  you are recommended to create an Amazon Machine Image for rapid deployment afterwards.
