With SAP TechEd && dCode, Las Vegas just around the corner it is time to look into the session list and finalize your agenda, if you are going to attend it. If you are working or interested in SAP Manufacturing topics I like to invite you to attend my session INT206 - Integrating Shop-Floor with Enterprise in Real-Time – SAP MII In Action where I'll speak on how manufacturing execution and automation systems can be integrated with enterprise system using SAP MII.

SAP MII being an integration, visualization and composition platform for developing manufacturing execution integration and transactional/analytics apps, is rapidly gaining momentum among manufacturing customers of SAP. By the virtue of its extensive connectors to manufacturing automation systems and easy composition and visualization capability it has proved to be a platform of choice for consolidating and integrating legacy automation and execution applications with ERP. In this session I'll explain how MII can be used as the integration platform for various scenarios to integrate with manufacturing automation and MES with reference to custom frameworks developed by IBM on MII to ease the implementation.

The brief agenda on my session is as below:

  1. Use Cases and Requirements for Shop-Floor Integration
  2. Capabilities of SAP MII as Manufacturing Integration Platform
  3. Integrating Level 2 Automation Systems
  4. Integrating Level 3 MES with ERP
  5. Using Custom Framework for MES Integration
  6. Providing Guaranteed Delivery & Error Handling for MES Integration

MII being a development platform, custom frameworks and applications can be developed on it to provide certain services for quick implementation and deployment. The focus of the session will be on the custom frameworks on MII which provides value-added features and how such frameworks can be developed on MII to accelerate the implementation.

So if you are attending the event and interested in the topic please note the time and venue (5:45 - 6:45 pm on Wednesday 22 Oct - Room : Lando 4306). I would love to have it as an interactive session and looking forward to interact with you and learn from your experiences as well. You can find more details about the session here.
