SAP Lumira – The Game Changer

SAP Lumira is the self service Business Intelligence and data Analytics tool. You can do lots of amazing stuffs with your data. However big or complex your data is, you will be able to reform it in excellent reports/charts and analyze it very easily. You will be amazed to know that using a tool is very simple and does not require any technical background.

Let’s see with example how Lumira is “The Game Changer” in BI space!

Dataset used: Emerging Market Analysis.xls

Dataset Analysis: It basically contains data about revenue generated and target for various states of US and the related attributes. These columns include State, days for which rent collected, total revenue from each state, type of market, expected target revenue, margins etc. We will try to analyze data based on various parameters. To showcase the capability of tool, I have chosen to represent data in Q&A format.  Screenshots are taken from SAP Lumira tool after generating visuals.

Q 1: Find out TOTAL Revenue earned and expected target revenue for EACH state: Using the effective visualization in a form of “Bubble Chart” - excellent form of representation for this form of data. Here is the comparative analysis of how the combined revenue and target data looks like for each state.

Q 2: Comparative analysis of Revenue v/s Margin and Revenue v/s Target

To visualize data we will use bar-plotter chart to showcase the comparison. It clearly articulates the expected target to be achieved and margin by state.

Q 3: Find out what’s the Retailer’s split for total revenue by each state: In the given scenario, we are to analyze three dimensional data to get the required results. The results give middle management the fair idea about what’s the retailer split in each state’s total revenue. The data can be excellently represented by SAP Lumira in for of “3-D” pie-chart.

Q 4: Create geographical analysis of combined revenue v/s rental days for each state. Represent it in form of geographical area / chart: The question seems a “tough one” at a 1st glance. “Representation in form of geographical area/chart”. Here comes the Power of Lumira. It gives us beautiful representation of revenue v/s rental day data in state-wise distribution. What a powerful visualization! Here we go…

Q 4: Find out “top-15” states which earns the most margin. Showcase data in “TreeMap”

To find data for “top-15” states with highest margin might be easy, but to create a “treemap” is difficult! But using SAP Lumira, we can do it using just few clicks or drag-drop.

From above examples, it can be seen that SAP Lumira is awesome tool for BI and data Analytics.  It provides immense features for extensive reporting and charts. It is very user friendly tool and easy to use. Particularly for middle and upper management, where data representation is the key, this tool can be very handy and effective as well.
