Sheffield and the Bid Data HANA CodeJam
Last Friday myself and Ian Thain headed to Sheffield over in the UK to Hallam University to host a SAP CodeJam event around HANA.
The idea was over 30 students and faculty around the topic of SAP HANA and Big Data – what we got was challenge to say the least; normally in an SAP CodeJam we spend a good 4 hours with hands on activities – however we had some firewall issues and were a bit limited with technology connectivity. However, I don’t think it matter because we were challenged with theory, thought, philosophy and what is what in the industry today.
Challenged with questions at the event and emails after the event, I honestly think it was a great event and was a delight to to be there and to get into all of these discussions around not just the technology but the what, why and how’s about technology implementations!
Hard questions and challenging of the status quo – what a fantastic audience!
