I would like to share my experience to launch HR processes and form from personal Information page. We all know that most of the company allow employees to maintain their personal information directly using WDA which create/change/delete Infotype directly but there are few clients who wants to define an approval process before updating HR Infotype. For Eg.: Address Change, Personal data change like last name, marital status which requires HRIS or payroll admin to approve before it updates Infotype.
Earlier we had a separate iView to launch personal data change form, separate iView for address change..etc. In this case, an employee has to do multiple clicks meaning employee have to go to personal information page to view current record and if they want to change the record then they have to click back and click launch personal data change form. With new FPM form type business wants to have a separate BUZZ (Business Card) to open the form in the same page on personal Information iView.
Moreover the client has separate CC for personal profile for each country. So I’d a challenge to build a solution to launch form based on CC,Country grouping.So I’ve used launch pad approach to build separate BUZZ to launch form. Following are the steps has been defined & configured to achieve the goal
Step 1: Personal Page (Without Form UIBB Box)
Step 2: Create Role & Instance for form using LPD_CUST transaction code
Step 3: Create launch pad component configuration in FPM_LAUNCHPAD_UIBB component
Step 4: Update Personal Profile overview page using FPM_OVP_COMPONENT
Step 5: Launch Form from Personal Information page
