Fiori “My Accounts”: Makes sense to implement and use it?
Companies increasingly struggle with the users – especially from sales – of their CRM systems: These users just don’t want to maintain data that is urgently needed, for example to investigate the pipeline, and to have a good basis for the right decisions, also on the long-term.
It is no question that for this complete data is needed. It is neither a question that users get increasingly demanding when it is about the user experience of applications.
Using software applications is a given in every aspect of your life. It is also a given that the best applications set the standards for the others; also the ones that are used in your business life.
What can you do?
To meet this demand a set of Fiori applications has been built, based on SAP CRM. These applications are targeted for users from (field) sales that work directly with their accounts, and need to travel quite a lot.
I want to describe a few important principles of one of these Fiori applications, called “My Accounts”. With doing this I want to help you to make the right decisions.
In short “My Accounts” provides the user with a list of his/her accounts and detailed information about them.
Principle no. 1: It comprises data that is related to an account, not only the pure master data, but also for example all opportunities related to the account. – The 360° view principle.
Principle no. 2: Also data from other systems can be integrated, for example quotations from SAP ERP. – It is an optional integration.
Principle no. 3: The goal is that companies of any industry can use it, and if necessary extend it with their additional needs. An extension guide is provided with SAP note 2016653 that should help to do this easily.
Principle no. 4: Users should really enjoy the application. “Ease of use” is a main target. – Users can even get rid of what they don’t need to see, and order everything based on their preference. – For this personalization options are offered.
Principle no. 5: The application is offered from CRM 7.0 on. In case you want to benefit from new features and enhancements I would recommend to use “My Accounts” based on CRM 7.0 EHP3. All new features are provided with CRM 7.0 EHP3. In addition with SP05 a redesign was introduced, which requires to do enhancements, done before, again.
