iOS8 support for SAP BusinessObjects Mobile
The compatible MOBI app version with iOS8 will be V 6.0.9. We have already uploaded the new patch (v 6.0.9) to AppStore and should be available for download soon.
If you have upgraded your device to iOS8, you might face few UI issues and abnormal exit of application on some specific workflows. We have fixed these issues in the next patch version 6.0.9
If you are using older version of MOBI app (like version 5.x or even 6.0.8) built using SDK, we recommend you to download the latest SDK package (version 6.0.9) from Service Market Place (SMP) and rebuild the app before moving to iOS8. SDK package will be available for download from SMP once app is live in iTunes. Please continue to use XCode 5.x to build the application. Compilation using XCode 6.x is not yet supported and application may exhibit user interface issues.
Feel free to reach out to me if you have further questions

Hi Srikanth,
If MOBI APP like version 6.0.X (6.0.6/6.0.8) built using SDK, Then kindly let me know your recommendations on this.
Thanks,
Madhu.
Hi Madhu,
Even for app with version 6.0.x (6.0.0 or 6.0.9) built using SDK, it is required to download 6.0.9 SDK package and rebuild the app for iOS8 support.
Note: Please continue to use XCode 5.x to build the application. Compilation using XCode 6.x is not yet supported and application may exhibit user interface issues.

Srikanth

Hello Madhu,
Fixed issues are available at SAP KB 2069700
Hello Srikanth, we are using Citrix XenMobile to distribute a customized version of the BusinessObjects Mobile app to our users. Currently we are distributing the app with a preconfigured connection. This connection is common for all users, but I was wondering whether it would be possible to distribute an individualized connection to each user? We are using the AD user to logon to Business Objects and have enabled SSO between BO and BI to reuse authorizations in the BI backend. And would it be possible to somehow get around the problem that our Active Directory requires a password change every three months, meaning that the users manually need to change the connection password every three months?
Best regards,
Anders
I am not able to comprehend your problem clearly, let me state my understanding - You have configured SSO for launchpad (which one?) and you are currently using Windows AD user passwords to logon through Mobile App. And what you want is a mechanism to either change password on mobile app or an option to configure SSO from Mobile device so that change password is not required.
If that's the case, I would suggest you to evaluate configuring SSO for your mobile app. You can check out
SAP BI Mobile Server Single Sign On Support
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Ashutosh
Hello Ashutosh, we have setup the SSO using Kerberos and AD accounts for BI Launchpad and for OpenDocument. This works well. We are able to give SSO-access to AD-users when they click the link http://<BO-server>:8080/BOE/BI. We are also able to share links of the type:
http://<BO-server>:8080/BOE/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sIDType=CUID&iDocID=Af9igSk022JEuvlNMmCUoUk
This part also works well for desktops using an appropriate browser or for Windows 8 tablets that can connect to the corporate network using DirectAccess or another VPN-technology.
For the mobile client on iOS we have investigated various options. Ideally we would like the reports a user can see from the mobile client to be individualized i.e. user Alice sees only the reports provided for Alice and these reports will retrieve data from the BW backend using the authorizations of Alice. We would also like to facilitate the setup and individualization for the user using our MDM-tool Citrix XenMobile. Thus our dream scenario is that Alice enrolls in XenMobile using her AD-account and password. The app with the preconfigured connection of Alice is pushed to her and the only thing she needs to do is to start the app and click connect.
I've skimmed through the material you provided and to me it seems like we might be able to achieve this with the supported possibilities, but I am not entirely convinced that it is possible and not entirely sure which road to choose.
Your advice would be great.... Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Anders
Hi Anders,
SSO using Kerberos is not supported for Mobile BI App.
I would have suggested you Trusted Authentication option. However, from the details you have provided, I understand that in your environment BOE passes on Kerberos ticket to BW system to logon to BW backend.
Hence, none of the SSO scenarios that we support would work in your environment.
Regards,
Ashutosh
Now, would it be possible with some other scenario? In the desktop scenario we are also able to logon to backend servers with a MYSAPSSO2 cookie provided by a redirect application on the Netweaver portal. That is, the browser requests the following:
https://<portal server>/redirect/redirect.jsp?url=http://<netweaver web application>
We configured the redirect application (SAP note 1250795) to use ADFS the identity provider in a SAML scenario. So what happens is the following:
1. Redirect application redirects to ADFS
2. ADFS is configured to use Windows Integrated Authentication and converts the Kerberos-ticket to a SAML assertion
3. ADFS then redirects back to the portal server which is configured to issue a MYSAPSSO2 cookie
4. Using this cookie we can then logon to the web application
It would seem that this scenario could be supported also against the mobile BI server if only the mobile app could support it, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Do you have any insight into what SSO-options are in the roadmap for the mobile app?
Best regards,
Anders
Hi Anders,
Yes, this can be supported. You can configure mobile server for SSO using MYSAPSSO2 cookie. IOS Client can be configured for a Form.
As on today, SSO needs for most of the customers are already met by the already provided options. Hence, the newer options, though in backlog, are low on priority.

SAP Mobile BI Team
Hi Ashutosh,
I have created a Webi Report and it has some HTML content(Html code to display fields in Bold), So here in Webi it is working fine.
But when I tried to see the report in BOBJ MOBI 6.0.9, it is not working. Here all fields are displayed with HTML code used for getting the Bold, but not the Fields with Bold.
Could you please advise on this?
Thanks,
Madhu.
Hello Madhu
Was this report working with the previous version of the App?
Thanks
Edy
Hi Edy,
No, In pervious app also I has the same issue. If HTML Content will work fine in Mobi App then please advise on how to use HTML content in Mobile BI APP. Thanks a lot.
Regards,
Madhu.
Hi Madhu
Please refer to Chapter 5.1.2 Using Free-Standing Cells in Web Intelligence Reports for Mobile Devices Page 27

Hi Edy,
I will check this and get back to you.
From the Fixed Issues of 6.0.9, Could you please eloberate the below Issues.
1. Row Disappear when show on SAP Mobile App.
2. Cannot Open HTML Content in the Offline Mode. Please provide me the Example for HTML Content. Is it nothing But Hyerlinks? or We can consider any HTML Code as well?
Thanks for your info.
Regards,
Madhu.
1. This issue was with table's last row being a header. In such cases last row was stripped off and not displayed on Mobile App.
2. With this we support only Hyperlink artifacts in Offline Mode. Using SDK build, Hyperlink artifact can point to a local HTML page as well.
Regards,
Ashutosh
Hi Ashutosh,
Table's last row being a header means, lost row in table is header. Like when we applied break on the report then headers will come at lost. This is the situation where the issues is happening?
Please confirm and advise.
Thanks,
Madhu.
Yes, that's correct.
Hi Ashutosh,
I tried to replicate the same in webi report and I have opened the same report in 6.0.8 and 6.0.9 APP, every thing is working fine.
Can you please advise me to mimic this issue?
Thanks,
Madhu.
Hi Srikanth,
SAP Mobi App 6.0.9 is still crashing randomly on iOS 8.0.2. Please advise. Thanks
Can you please send me email with additional details? ( crash logs, content types used, workflow where crash is observed)
Thanks
Srikanth
Hi Srikanth, Please me know your email address so that I can send you the details. Thanks
Dear Srikanth,
we tested iPad 4 performance with the iOS 7 and iOS 8.
We used the newest SAP BI Mobile Version 6.0.9.13 (456322).
With iOS 8 we have performance issues by starting the app and running a report. The application runs much more faster with iOS 7. Furthermore using scrolling functionality isn't Apple like, if we scroll down to the end of the report it's more a stuttering than a scrolling down.
Are you facing the same issues within your environment or is any new version available to fix those problems?
If you need more information how we tested, please let me know.
Maybe someone had the same problems and already fixed them.
I would appreciate any answers!

Gerardo
