Quick Poll iViews in SAP EP 7.3

Hi All,

This document will help you to create polls in SAP EP 7.3.

1.0 Objective

· This document will help you to create quick polls and in how to assign it to end users.

2.0 Aim

· To create iViews for Quick poll.

· Assigning iViews to respective roles.

· Actions on polls.

3.0 Description

· Creating polls using ‘Quick Poll Administration iView’ and ‘Quick Poll iView’.

4.0 Prerequisites

· Content Admin access to create roles and iViews

5.0  Procedure

1.    Create Quick Poll Admin iView (for Admin)

2.    Create Quick Poll iView (for End User)

3.    Assigning iViews to roles

4.    Creating Quick Poll by Quick Poll Admin

5.    End User actions on Quick Poll

              

1.     1. Create Quick Poll Admin iView (for Admin)

i.              Click on Content Administration role and open portal content.

ii.             Go to desire folder where you want to create an iView.

iii.            Right click on the folder then New–>iView–>iView From Template

Following content (list of available iView templates) will be displayed in content area.

iv.            Choose ‘KM Quick Poll Administration iView’ from the list and then click ‘Next’.

v.             Provide the details of the iView as shown below. Only name is mandatory. Then click ‘Next’.

vi.            After checking Summary click ‘Finish’.

vii.           Now open iView for Editing

viii.          Go to ‘Properties’.

ix.           Choose Property as ‘Component Profile’ From Show Category dropdown.

x.            It is optional to provide ‘Campaign To Be Used’ property.

xi.           Save the iView and then close.

2.   Create Quick Poll iView (for End User)

i.      Click on Content Administration role and open portal content.

ii.     Go to desire folder where you want to create an iView.

iii.    Right click on the folder then New–>iView–>iView From Template

iv.    Following content (list of available iView templates) will be displayed in content area.

                 v.     Choose ‘KM Quick Poll iView’ from the list and then click ‘Next’.

                         vi.    Provide the required parameters about iView.

vii.   Click Next and then Finish.

viii.  Now open all properties of iView.

ix.   Go to Show category dropdown and choose ‘Campaign To Be Used’. Enter some value as below.

x.    Save, Refresh and then close the iView.

Similarly create ‘Quick Poll End User’ iView. Keep ‘Campaign To Be Used’ as ‘End User’.

3.   Assigning iViews to role

     Create two roles for Quick Poll iView and Quick Poll Admin as below and related iViews.

     Eg. Here, Quick Poll End User role for quick poll iViews

Here, Quick Poll Admin role for Admin.

4         4. Creating Poll by Quick Poll Admin

i.    Click on Quick Poll Admin role, following content will be displayed in content area.

  ii.    Click on ‘New’ and then fill the necessary parameters in the template opened as below

Note: here “Campaign” property is very important. This poll will be displayed to the end user who is having quick poll iView assigned with the same “Campaign”.

Attributes:

General:

a.    Question: Provide the question for poll.

b.    Responses: Each new line entry is a response or you can upload the template for responses.

c.     Choose result availability criteria.

Image:  You can add from the KM

Layout: You choose layout from the options shown in snapshot (a), also you can choose the result display from the options as shown in snapshot (b).

Participants: you can assign the poll to user/role/group

Schedule: You can schedule the quick poll by providing the date and time as below (also check the Schedule checkbox)

And you can add comments related to poll.

Or you can simply start the Poll by clicking on Start in after selecting your poll. Then end user with the same campaign can see the poll and vote.

Note: If you start this poll, other polls with the same campaign will automatically close.

5     5. End User Actions on Quick Poll:

End users can only see the polls created with same campaign name provided to their iView assigned. They can vote/rate the poll from the given responses. Finally they will see the result as below,
