SAP University Alliances joined SAP Africa in the Drakensberg, from the 13-15 of August, to kick-off the execution of the Growth Plan. This continent-wide event allowed the Africa Market Unit to focus on ensuring a seamless transition from the planning stage of the Growth Plan to its execution phase for sustainable, long-term success.

The pillars of the Growth Plan were officially communicated to all employees. SAP Plans to invest $500 million by 2020 to accelerate innovation and growth in Africa. SAP has also pledged to up-skill the next generation of IT leaders and professionals by training up to 10,000 consultants by 2020, in close collaboration with local governments and by leveraging SAP University Alliance relationships with Universities under the Skills for Africa programme.

The agenda provided for structured regional break-out sessions but also allowed great opportunity for SAP University Alliances to interface and interact with key stakeholders across Africa, in kicking off SAP University Alliances contribution to Skills for Africa.

An exciting time for SAP Africa and SAP University Alliances team as we accelerate our efforts to drive Skills for Africa and university engagement in Angola, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa and Morocco.
