openSAP: Listening to your Feedback and Introducing our Platform Improvements!

Last month, openSAP conducted a survey to collect feedback from existing users. We had a tremendous response with over 3,000 participants providing their thoughts on openSAP.  Here’s a short overview:

Who participated in our survey?

Question1.png

What do the participants think of our platform and courses?
Question2.png

Respondents of the survey are mostly happy with our platform and course delivery. The discussion forum is valued by almost 60% of the respondents. This
indicates that not every learner uses the discussion forum feature and prefers to study alone without interacting with peers or SAP experts.

What do our participants think of MOOCs in general and openSAP?

Question3.png

We can see that 27% of our respondents like deadlines for motivation in MOOC formats and similarly 31% find deadlines and support motivating compared
to other formats of learning. Most (56%) respondents find openSAP flexible and easy to complete compared to other formats with 36% choosing flexibility as the best feature of openSAP.

Participant’s comments:

I find the courses extremely useful in my role as a developer/technical consultant. I have much better
knowledge of the platforms and the development opportunities now available. This has allowed me to move
forward on a current project with an SAP UI5 application, and potential to develop platform specific mobile applications.

This is the one and only best platform to understand SAPs future plan

and get on the path in advance. I Love it….

It’s the first time where I believe that eLearning works. The quality of content and how it is
presented is key. Please note also that I never consume content on a PC browser.
State of art is to consume content on my Sofa using the iPad

Good place to learn and progress career & business as well

I love this platform of self-paced eLearning

Your platform is excellent – I’m currently taking a Coursera class and I think openSAP is easier/more streamlined.

The Quality of openSAP is good. I love that it continues into the future as I would
like to take more courses, even the ones I missed. Thank you.

I like to learn whenever there’s time to – so I download the videos and to watch them on
the train is just perfect

Very glad SAP is supporting new ways to educate the ecosystem. No longer is
classroom training the way to go, especially for technical skills.

Its an extremely good initiative. I am one of many who has benefited from it and
I have ensured that more and more people, whom I know, enroll. It makes KT very easy.

Amazing website overall!

Excellent, i’m using my laptop, desktop and tablet, and openSAP still knows my exact progress!
Absolutely! Easy to use, easy to access, easy to understand, look and feel is excellent!

You spoke and we listened!
While a lot of feedback collected was very positive towards openSAP, many users told us about improvements that they would like to see at openSAP and
we’re happy to inform you that with our system upgrade which was released today, those participants can expect to see many improvements within the areas
that they provided feedback.

Discussion forum:
I’d like to have the possibility to subscribe to it and get notified of new posts, identify unread posts easily etc.
With our upgraded system this is now possible. If you’re interested in a thread, just hit subscribe and you’ll receive notifications, making your learning experience even easier.

Mobile experience:
On mobile devices, the navigation bar is excluded from scrolling.
Therefore it’s hard to use on small screens as you can’t zoom to e.g. the login button.
With the new release, the website formatting will change based on the device you’re using to access the content so your navigation will be simpler and experience improved!

My Courses:
The one MAJOR thing that bothers me is that I cannot switch between all the courses I’m enrolled in
Again we’re glad to announce that there is now a “My Courses” section where the courses which you’re enrolled to appear.
There are some additional features that you might be interested in:
    • New discussion forum with Q&A style threads and vote for discussion postings
Ask questions and rate answers from others. This will improve learners’ experience when searching through discussions
    • Validation of Record of Achievement
Unique links will allow users to provide potential or existing employers with the opportunity to check the validity of Record of Achievement online
           and instantly
    • Improved quiz submission review
Before submitting your assignment or final exam, easily review your answers to ensure you are correct

These new features are available now* on openSAP and we look forward to seeing you in our next courses, exploring our many new features. Feel free to provide your feedback as we are always continuing improvements to our platform.

***Please note that the transition to our new system will complete over the coming days. How are you affected? For example, if you
previously earned a Record of Achievement/Certificate of Participation at openSAP, your documents will be available on the new system in the coming days.
Thanks for your patience in advance!***

      Hi,

the "Documents/My courses" overview only lists the title of the document but not its date. Please add it, otherwise its difficult to tell old from new documents, esp. because all course titles are similar. Also using a UUID "3902ff4f-bdb1-4500-b76e-98024f99fe4d.pdf" as file name is not exactly user friendly. In additiona the generated PDFs result in the error message "An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF documents to correct the problem."

      Best regards, Peter.
