Two new pages have been added to the EIS space on SCN summarizing educational and support materials recently uploaded. These pages have abstracts of documents and links to open them for reading and sharing. The educational materials were mostly sourced from the EIS Fundamentals PowerPoint used to introduce new customers to the concepts behind the EIS application after kicking off an implementation or upgrade project. Start with the Introduction file to understand what the EIS application can do and how it can benefit your company. Then read through the Single Stage Inventory logic followed by multi stage logic to get a solid understanding of inventory optimization. Most of the other files provide details about specific conditions and way to use and implement the system and process changes. If you're reading these for the first time, them read them in the order they are listed.
The support materials were written to respond to EIS (SmartOps) customer questions over the last few years, that were not addressed by any other documentation. This is not a replacement for the formal Support areas on SAP.com but supplements those with a deeper dive on some specific, less common circumstances. Examples of topics covered include End Horizon Explanation, Risk Pooling, calculating Average Cycle Stock, Forecast Bias, and the effects of PBR and Batch Sized on Safety Stock.
