After we welcomed the very first UA member in Bosnia and Hercegovina (BIH) last year – Sarajevo School of Science and Technology, we continued to spread SAP and UA messages and engaging with new prospect universities in BIH also in 2014. In April I was invited to hold presentation about SAP and UA at University of Business Studies in Banja Luka. In Banja Luka is located the biggest SAP partner company in BIH - Lanaco, so it was reasonable to invite them to also participate at the event. More than 130 students and 11 professors welcomed us in the uditorium, which was quite surprising.
During first part of his presentation Mr. Aleksandar Damljanović, consultant at Lanaco, made overall introduction about SAP, solutions, services etc. During second part he presented their company and what SAP partner does on the field during implementation projects. He also explained the role of consultants, what kind of skills and knowledge is needed, and at the end he addressed the students with employment opportunities for future graduates.
After partners’ presentation I have continued with the overview about UA offerings and opportunities for students, and presented the SAP not only as ERP provider, but as the global company which produces and delivers modern and ground-breaking business solutions. I also tried to inspire the audience with
success stories of Slovenian students who “found themselves” in SAP world. I have advised them that for the start of their SAP career, first step would be to
step out from the crowd, grab the opportunities we offer, and participate at our events where they can get new knowledge, expand their social network and
become visible to potential employers.
Presentations meet the expectations of students, professors, rector and owner of the university. Furthermore, during the meeting after the presentations, we agreed with the management of the university on further collaboration between SAP, partner and University.
