Hey everyone!

I just discovered this space in the SCN and I decided to share with you a little bit about the SAP Runners group that we have at the SAP Labs Latin America in the south of Brazil.

Just to give you an idea, this is where we are located on the world map:

I’m sure you will all agree that in order to help our customers to Run Better, we need to be in good shape…right?

At the Labs Latin America we have the opportunity to do that by joining the SAP Runners group.

We have a lot of people in the group, and that includes:

  • people who never ran before and are starting now
  • people who run 5k
  • people who run 10k
  • people who run 21k
  • people who run marathons
  • and, last but not least, people who have participated in the ironman!

The SAP Runners participate in many events that are organized here in the south of Brazil.

A coach helps out with our training. SAP helps out with paying the coach, and that way we pay a small fee to be part of the group and get the personal training.

Our building is located inside a university campus, the university here is called Unisinos.

We benefit from a racing track that is just too close to be true. Have a look:

Every monday after work the coach is here to train us.

For the middle of the week he’ll send us the training plan by e-mail.

And on the weekend, there is a meeting point in the city to go running.

It’s very nice to be able to do this close to work. To have a coach that helps us as well.

It is also an opportunity to network with colleagues you don’t usually work with daily, but who share a passion for running and are part of the SAP Runners team.

Here’s a quick look at the track where we practice:

This one was taken in the summer…

This one was taken on sunset…

This one is pretty much how we find the track today, as it is winter time for us now and the days get dark around 6pm, just when we are about to hit the track…and yes, that is the moon, so I guess it’s not that bad that it’s dark, with this view!

As I mentioned, we participate in many events organized locally. Day runs, night runs…

And we have already won trophies in some events for being the company with most people running in the event. Check them out:

Just in case you’re now wondering what “Maior Empresa” is…it is Biggest Company written in Portuguese (because we speak Portuguese in Brazil, not Spanish 🙂 ).

This is me finishing a night run with our SAP Runners t-shirt on:
