Nearly 100 professors and customers from Oil & Gas industry attended Open Forum for Intelligent Digital Oil Fields in Xi’an on

16-19/July,2014. Founded by Oil Academies including China University of Petroleum (Beijing), China University of Petroleum (East China), Southwest Petroleum University, Xi’an Petroleum University, Northeast Petroleum University, the Forum aims to improve the cooperation between industry and academies as well as accelerate the popularization and application of high-tech.

With invitation from Xi’an Petroleum University, two guesting speakers from SAP were invited by UA to attend this forum representing SAP. Sun Dunsheng, Director and Chief expert of chemical industry, SAP Great China, shared the details of SAP solution in the oil and gas industry on the Forum. As he said, information technology can effectively promote energy conservation and petrochemical companies. With many years’ experience and knowledge in this industry, SAP can provide technical solutions targeted for oil and gas companies and bring best practices into the China market. And Tom Lu, Director of Big Data Architect delivered a presentation about Big Data applications and Business Intelligence, mainly talked about how to dig important information among massive data and make the right decisions accordingly.

After presentation they joined the panel discussion with other speakers, had an in-depth conversation with Professor Cheng Guojian, Vice-Chairman of the iDOF Committee and a dinner with Vice President of Xi’an Petroleum University.

The conference has shortened the distance between customers in the Oil & Gas industry and us, while SAP effectively conveys the best practices in such two sectors, which lays the groundwork for sales. Moreover, attendance in such industry conference is very meaningful, given it not only enables our experts to update knowledge in this field, but also brings more sales opportunities and builds deeper customer relationships.
