How to mass change and update new characteristic value assigned to set of materials

Transaction:  CLMM

The mass change function lets you change large quantities of  This is very useful if you change your classification of super model & want to extend this changes to all connected models.

There are
three options available:

Note : The ‘Additional operation for generic change not allowed’ error usually occurs when the target object already has values assigned in material classification (Please see MM02 -> ‘Classification View’ of target object) . Therefore, before copying assigned values, in the ‘Target objs’ tab (in transaction CLMM) the option ‘Overwrite Existing Values’ must be enabled.
