Hello,

It is rightly said that human brain is more responsive to visual content…

The video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EUqzdmgTTc “SAP HANA Cloud Portal — Create Beautiful Website”is the one that I am going to review.

I would suggest you to have a look at this video before you continue reading this blog. Every one of us will have our own thought process when we look at a video. I don’t want to influence your thought process with my ideas here, so before reading further, have a look at this video.

Wow… wasn’t it great…?

Simple….! Yet Effective…!

This is how I felt when I watched this video.

There are few things that you have to make note of:

1 – The sequence of information :

The video content was well organised from a customer / developer perspective, and the sequence in which it was put forth was straight forward and easy to understand. This gives the viewers a feeling that, “Yes, I think I can do something as shown in this” and definitely this is a selling point for SAP.

Viewer feel that they can do this.

2 – Tool tip at the bottom:

If you notice, there is a tool tip (call out) with text, explaining the feature / usage of the option shown in the video at that moment. This will help people who are new to the technology, to gain a quick understanding of the concepts. When the targeted customers are high profile people from the business management side, it is not necessary that they are familiar with the terminologies that we use in the IT ecosystem.

The tool tip at the bottom helps everyone to give importance to the content shown, and to understand the same.

3 – Preview of the site, shown in a tablet:

After designing the site, the video shows the preview of the site in a tablet device. This indirectly conveys the message that the sites designed in the HANA Cloud Platform are device independent and they are responsive to the device.

This is a very good idea, since videos are at their best, when the time duration is less. This video which is designed for 2:37, conveys the very important feature of the product – the responsive design of the site.

4 – Overall feeling:

The overall feeling that I got after watching the video is that, it was Slow and Smooth.

It was aptly designed to suite the target audience.

5 – The Ultimate Result:

YES…! I created my sample site looking at this video. And Now I have shared the same with my team, and considering to recommend this for our customers. This is what is expected out of a video right?

It did its job well, and I am the proof for it.

And last but not least… the music did make me tap my feet…. Cheers!!

Thank you.

      Hi Vera,

Thank you. I would like to create a video, but I have few doubts,

1 – Can that video have my company Logo [We are an SAP Partner] ?

2 – Can I come up with a video of my own, depicting one of SAP products / features?  Am I allowed to do that?

      Thank you Vera,

      Regards,

      Tamilnesan G

        Hi Tamilnesan,

Yes – you can create a video that carries your company’s logo and name that is mentioning a SAP product.

I am also curious to see the site you created – can you make it public or allow me to visit it?

        Best,

        Amir.

          My Team

I am not sure if it up to the standard, but I just gave a try, and got this up in a very short span of time.

Will come up with better sample sites.

          Thanks & Regards,

          Tamilnesan G
