SAP’s market leadership in the area of analytics is well known – for the past five years, we’ve topped Gartner’s Business Intelligence and Analytics category. However, it’s not yet common knowledge that business intelligence (BI) offerings from SAP go beyond licensed-based, on-premise options to a full range of cloud-based solutions. Now, with the release of analytic solutions in SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud, there’s no time like the present to debunk a few common misconceptions about SAP’s BI offerings.
Chandran Saravana had been interacting with a few customers and found that their core discussions were focused on data governance with respect to the new age of data discovery and predictive modeling. One repeated discussion concerned the gap between governed and ungoverned data, and many customers see that it is widening. The intent of this article is to focus on the new age of data discovery and predictive modeling and its impact on data governance.
As customers have sought to integrate and develop a more programmatic approach to a BI strategy, SAP has developed a number of best-practice assets and some thought-leadership content to assist them. So much was happening around analytics solutions from SAP at SAPPHIRE NOW this year! Along with discussions on the new innovations, there were many great customer sessions where clients shared their journeys through analytics initiatives from SAP.
In a presentation SAPPHIRE NOW, Christian Rodatus discussed how organizations are unleashing the power of collective insight with enterprise BI, agile visualization, and advanced analytics. Nic Smith has summarized a list of top ten reasons to adopt the latest SAP BusinessObjects BI suite 4.1.
SAP’s data viz team wanted to join the action of World Cup football and share insights using SAP technology into which teams might make it to the finals. Using SAP Lumira and SAP Predictive Analysis software, the data viz team at SAP analyzed data from all the World Cup teams to select which countries would advance in the tournament.
