HEC as a deployment option helps streamline many of the common tasks we would typically consider for an on premise solution. SAP manages the installation and configuration of the software as part of the standard HEC subscription pricing. Once the applications are installed and configured, SAP is also responsible for upgrades and continued maintenance. This makes it easier for our customers because they no longer need to be concerned about application versioning, applying patches, or other maintenance related considerations.
Typical roadblocks we run into tend to be the result of planning a move to the cloud without first developing a clear cloud strategy that outlines short and longer objectives. Transitioning to the cloud needs to be aligned with the IT and business strategy and organized in a way that manages expectations while demonstrating the value. With a proper cloud assessment from SAP, all of the necessary due diligence can be taken into consideration so there are no surprises. This is an important step to ensure thorough planning and that the delivery execution is aligned with the strategy.
