MCB): Workaround for Massive MD04 – Stock and Requirement List
1- Introduction:
As a SCM consultant I have received several times the same request: Planners want to have a t-code to extract MD04 massively.
Luckily this can be done “some times” using SAP functionality of Long Term Planning. I said “some times” because this report does not show reasonable results when in the plant we have Subcontracting.
Before using and sharing this report, the consultant should make a validation and check if the report shows accurate results in the corresponding plant.
2- MCB): Workaround for Massive MD04
The report mentioned in the paragraph above is MCB).
Here you can see how to use this report and extract the results to excel.
2.1- This is the selection screen
Enter the following fields and Execute:
- Planning Scenario: 000 (this report was defined for Long Term Planning. By using planning scenario 000, you are using the actual data that you have in planning)
- Plant
- Period to analyze
You can run the report by plant, without entering the materials., but in this case the report could take some time.:
2.2- Switch drilldown:
2.3- Change the characteristic display: get material code:
2.4- Modify the layout and add more columns:
2.5- Open the Keyfigures in monthly buckets:
You will note that you have different columns. Unfortunately you can only open in monthly buckets one column each time:
2.6- Extract the report to an excel file:
I hope you can find this document useful.
Remember that if you have subcontracted requirements or if you have the planning data in an external system (e.g.: APO without being Ciffed), this could not be an accurate report.

thanks, very useful
can we use tcode MCBZ instead?
Hi,
Thanks for your comments. Yes.. It is the same, in fact if you are not interested in Long Term Planning you should directly use MCBZ.
Kind Regards,
Mariano
Hello Mariano.
I have created planning scenario 001 for one of our plants (plant 1010). What should I enter in the "planning scenario" text box in the MCB) transaction? 000 or 001? Does it really display only the planning data? Because i have been trying to display my scenario with RMMD07EX standard SAP report, but instead of having only my scenario's materials displayed, i get all planned materials displayed.
Kind regards and many thanks in advance,
Nikos
Hi Nikos,
This t-code was made for Long Term Planning. Now if you use planning version 000, in that case you will be running the report for your active planning data (the same data that you see online in MD04).
Kind Regards,
Mariano
ok Mariano! Thanks very much.
I will test it and let you know...
Any ideas about why this is not happening in standard SAP report RMMD07EX?
Best regards,
Nikos
