Converter module audit and trace not working

Update 2014-10-16:

SAP has release OSS note 2079644 – EDIFACT Converter Module audit log displays modules parameters edifact..trace, edifact..audit, eancom..trace and eancom.audit as not set.

Hi fellow B2B developers,

This is just a heads up to new developers facing the same problem I did.

I just started working with the SAP PI/PO B2B solution from SAP and one of the first challenges I faced was trying to get additional audit and trace information in the audit log.

According to documentation provided by SAP on help.sap.com for ‘Configuring the Converter Module Parameters’ it should be possible to set parameters like: edifact.trace, edifact.audit, eancom.trace, eancom.audit and so on, which is what I really needed.

However, when I tried setting these parameters in the converter modules I still did not get additional information in the audit log. Instead I got the following information back in the audit log: B2B EdifactConverterModule: The module-paramteter “eancom..audit” is not set. Using default value “false

Just for the fun of it I changed the parameters to include an additional dot (.) between ‘eancom’ and ‘audit’ and then I suddenly got the expected additional audit and trace information in the audit log.

I’ve created an incident with SAP to get this minor problem corrected, but until then, I will be using double-dots (eancom..audit and eancom..trace) to get the additional information in audit log.

Happy B2B converting.

/Jacob
