Request for feedback: SAP BusinessObjects Mobile and iOS version

Hello Mobi Users,

With the iOS 8 set to release this fall, we would like to understand which iOS version you are using today and what plans you may have to upgrade to iOS 8, once it becomes available. Today, App Store distribution by OS  shows us that 90% of iOS devices is already using iOS 7 ( link)

So that we can better plan for iOS 8 support, please respond to this short, 2-question survey (link below).

If you have additional questions/inputs, you can also reach me via this blog or email

Survey link: https://www.sapsurvey.com/cgi-bin/qwebcorporate.dll?idx=CVV5AX

Note: This survey ends by 8th August

Regards

Srikanth

      Srikanth,

I saw this news release from SAP earlier this week, "SAP Provides iOS 8 Support to Enhance the Mobile Enterprise Experience". Rick Costanzio is quoted saying "SAP is excited to announce day-one support of Apple’s new iOS 8".

Dos this "day-one" support also extend to SAP BusinessObjects Mobile? Will be ready for next week's launch of iOS 8?

The combination of compelling new features, which Apple always seems to have each year, along with BYOD mobile device policies means that Day One (or at least Week One) support is important, as some curious user will upgrade to iOS 8 as soon as it's available.

Each year SAP gets faster and more proactive with iOS support information (see my musings on iOS 6 and iOS 7), and I'm hopeful we'll have iOS 8 support soon.

      Regards,

      Hey Dallas,

Yes, this support extends to SAP BusinessObjects Mobile as well. We are currently testing with iOS8 gold master build and should upload a new patch soon to appstore. We are hopeful that patch should be available around September 17th (day when iOS8 arrives)

For some reason (backlog?) we are still waiting on Apple to release the app - hopefully it will be available in the next couple days!

All info on the upcoming 6.0.9 release can be found at: https://support.wdf.sap.corp/sap/support/notes/2069700

Thanks, Edy. Here's a link to SAP KB 2069700 that works for external customers and partners. I see that there are fixes in addition to iOS 8 compatibility and can't wait to see SAP Mobile BI 6.0.9.
