The ASUG Services & Support Community will host presentations from the top selection of this year’s SAP Education Best Practice competition. All ASUG Installation member companies were invited to compete for the eighth annual SAP Education Best Practices Award, conferred by ASUG and SAP Education in official recognition of 2014’s most innovative and successful training programs. The winner was selected by the SAP Education Best Practices Award Committee and entries were judged on the following criteria:

  • Strategy
  • Measurement
  • Innovation
  • Sustainment
  • Lessons Learned

SAP Education Best Practice Award Runner-up: Maple Leaf Foods

In 2008, Maple Leaf Foods embarked on a four-year phased approach to deploy SAP companywide. Maple Leaf used a blended learning approach, supported by technology and learning tools. The methodology included distributed learning, e-learning, performance support, coaching, validation and certification, a post-go-live support model, and a strong Key User Network. Today, Maple Leaf Foods celebrates more than 90 go-lives and is now entering a continuous improvement phase.

SAP Education Best Practice Award Winner: Pfizer

In 2010 Pfizer began a multi-year global deployment that ultimately will include more than 25,000 users and support 98% of Pfizer’s revenue. The program successfully addresses managing multiple concurrent deployments, designing a global training program with local processes and languages, and developing an ongoing sustainment strategy. Learn how Pfizer’s Business Adoption strategy incorporated Training, Change Management, Communications, and Organizational Alignment.

SAP Education Best Practice Award Honorable Mention: Uni-Select

In 2009, Uni-Select began a 24-month implementation of SAP ERP software in approximately 40 sites across North America. To reinforce more traditional training methods, Uni-Select created a Build-A-Car workshop, which involved small teams of employees building a child-size motorized car using a demo of the new SAP software functions, such as inventory, assembly, and billing processes. This successful gamification strategy succeeded in high levels of employee enthusiasm and rapid adoption of the new system.
