[SAP HANA Academy] SPS08 What’s New: SAP HANA Answers – 1. Overview

SAP HANA Academy’s Tahir Hussain “Bob” Babar provides an overview of SAP HANA Answers. SAP HANA Answers is a new and very useful feature now available with SPS08.

The purpose of SAP HANA Answers is to accelerate the successful adoption of SAP HANA by providing context aware answers to queries in either SAP HANA Studio or on the web. Powered by SAP HANA XS on the SAP HANA Cloud Platform, this crowd sourced content hub of SAP HANA information improves user experience and productivity.

SAP HANA Answers’ Repository of Information (3:22 – 5:00)

SAP HANA Answers is a consolidation of different informational sources such as the SAP HANA Academy, SCN’s SAP HANA Communities, SAP Help and SAPHANA.com. SAP HANA Answers can be accessed on the web and as a plug-in for SAP HANA Studio.

Demonstration of SAP HANA Answers (5:00 – 15:38)

The web-based version of SAP HANA Answers can be accessed by visiting answers.saphana.com on a web browser. Simple instructions for installing the SAP HANA Answers plug-in for SAP HANA Studio are detailed on the landing page. Searching for a topic returns results that can be sorted by relevance, newest, most active, and/or most endorsed (votes).

With the SAP HANA Answers plug-in installed in SAP HANA Studio a user can access SAP HANA Answers by clicking of the blue A icon at either the top or the bottom of the screen or pressing the F10 button. SAP HANA Answers seamlessly returns context based results for what a user is currently engaged with in the SAP HANA Studio. Users are able to limit the results to certain formats of information.

If a user logs into their SAP HANA account then they can subscribe to certain discussion threads and receive notifications when it’s updated. Users can also flag content, endorse videos, and ask direct questions to SAP HANA Answers.
