Booming UX-life on UI5!!
SAP is looking forward to bring a major improvement in the UX-Life with its latest technologies UI5 and FIORI .
Through UI5 code jam sessions, SAP is trying to enlighten, as well as encourage developers to take a step ahead
in UI tech.
On June 18th, We had our first Code Jam session on “SAP UI5” at General Mills India Pvt Ltd. conducted by Padmashree B and Abhik Gupta from SAPlabs.
The session had great response with 35 participants from
6+ Organizations. We had participants not only from SAP
background but also from many others who currently work
on JQuery, HTML, CSS, .Net etc. Platforms.
The session started with a brief overview about SAP UI5
technology. All the participants were really amazed seeing
how easily the languages like HTML and JQUERY can contribute the most to the SAP UI.
After having an overview of how this open source platform
welcomes the collaboration of developers from different background, it was our turn to actually experience it by having hands on.
We tried out few exercises given by SAP experts. A simple (very first) exercise to hide a button on mouse hover and changing the text made us curious to think about which other things we can do via SAP UI5. The pre-lunch session covered most of the UI controls in UI5 and how to test the
application in eclipse.
This interesting session was followed with delicious food. An hour break was the time where we had lot of discussion, knowledge share with different people. Post lunch we had some interesting topics on MVC, controllers, data binding, connectivity etc.
The overall experience of the first code jam was amazing. The agenda was very well planned and topics covered were very helpful to have a broader view of SAP UI5. I can say. it was indeed the Code Jam with “Network, Learn & Fun”.
Got good exposure to SAPUI5 and also got a chance to try out hands on. Thanks to SAP for conducting the event. SAP Code Jam Rocks!!
It gave a great insight to what SAP has to offer in the UI/UX world. Helped immensely to get a start in UI5 enviroment.
This was very informative session which helped me to understand the SAPUI5 concept and its different features.
It was really a great session. The exercises were well designed, they really helped understanding the SAPUI5.
Also this session given glimpse about the future of SAP applications.
