“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” – Anonymous Chinese proverb

The children at Govt. Urdu Higher Secondary School (Palace Guttahalli, Bangalore) knew this was not a regular morning. They looked curiously at us from the corridors, some of them waited in the warm and sunny courtyard while paraphernalia was being laid out on the dais. One of them put up a banner that read “S-A-P”.

After the unexpected arrival of a local politician and some inspirational speeches; Dictionaries, Notebooks, Toys and Sporting goods were distributed to the children – thanks to SAP Labs India’s IT Team. We (Raghu, Prasada, Anand, Joison, Karthik, Prakash, Tenny, Bali, Raghuraman, Krishna, Gaurav, Niteen and Aruna) picked this school as they received no aid from any charitable organization.

We hope this gesture made the kids happier and let them know that despite limitations, anything is achievable with the right amount of motivation and effort.

I will allow this medley of photographs explain the rest… 🙂
