I used Learning Hub materials from Analysis Office to learn more about "Smart Copy" and Exporting Applications to Design Studio from Analysis Office.  I don't think I understood the differences between the two until I used Learning Hub.  For more information about Learning Hub see Getting access & accessing SAP Learning Hub #SAPEducation

Smart Copy from Analysis Office will transfer your data source and navigation state.

Creating a web application from Analysis Office will transfer crosstabs, charts, and filter components.

See below:

Smart Copy

Figure 1

From Analysis Office I can select crosstab, right click and select Smart Copy

Figure 2

Figure 2 shows I create a new application in Design Studio and select Smart Paste

Figure 3

Figure 3 shows the crosstab in Design Studio

Figure 4

Figure 4 shows I have drilled down from Project to WBS and added a conditional format to highlight projects over budget (see first WBS)

Figure 5

After selecting Smart Copy > Paste in Design Studio Figure 5 shows the navigation state stayed when I went from Analysis Office to Design Studio

If I want to see the conditional formatting, I would need to set the Conditional Formatting property to True (Figure 5 it is false)

Creating a Web Application

Figure 6 shows a cross tab and a pivoted waterfall chart in Analysis Office.  I click the Create Web Application ribbon in the Tools area.

Figure 7

Figure 7 shows how it looks in Design Studio and the waterfall chart is a horizontal chart in Design Studio.
