Hi folks,

If you use SAP ME for packing, you may find interesting how the behaviour on pack and unpack has been changed from Visiprise 5.0 to ME 5.2 and then enhanced in ME 6.1.

So, imagine you

  1. Pack SFC, which is In Queue.

  2. Remove SFC from the container.

In 5.0 SFC is not started by packing and therefore both SFC Step Status and SFC Status remain In Queue after removed from a container.

Note that unpack does not do a signoff. Therefore, when SFC is unpacked it should remain the current state.

In ME 5.2 SFC is already started by packing. Thus, SFC Status becomes Active and SFC Step Status becomes In Work once packed and remain such after removed from a container.

In ME 6.0 SFC Step Status becomes In Work and SFC Status becomes Active after removed from a container too.

In ME 6.1 the functionality has been enhanced by adding activity rules according to SAP Note 1908297. So,

in case AUTO_START_SFC Activity Rule is On, SFC Step Status becomes In Work and SFC Status becomes Active.

in case AUTO_START_SFC Activity Rule is Off, both SFC Step Status and SFC Status remain In Queue.
